Our exams include an eyeglass prescription, and full eye health screening. Combining years of practice, and latest in technology, we are able to provide you with the best individualized exam experience.

In addition to your refraction, we also provide color vision testing, in-depth peripheral vision screening, glaucoma and pressure screening, eye alignment and muscle testing, and detailed retinal scans.

The Monaco Optomap uses a high-resolution camera and cross-sectional light to provide wide-field views into the retina.

This device is similar to dilation of the eyes, but doesn’t require vision-blurring eye drops.

A native to Wisconsin, Dr. McGinley, is proud to offer Milwaukee a place like Optix on Downer, a dream he’s been thrilled to watch grow into a successful reality. “From the minute you walk into Optix, I want your experience to be so unparalleled that you’ll want to bring your whole family to see me,” he says. Dr. McGinley is currently an Adjunct Clinical Instructor at The Illinois College of Optometry and a Staff Optometrist at the Milwaukee Veterans Hospital.

Contact Lens


During your annual eye exam, we can also provide you with a contact lens fitting. This will include corneal measurements, an evaluation of contact lenses in the eye, trials, and contact lens training if needed.


Any follow ups will be included. We can fit almost any lens including: soft contacts of all types, gas permeable (hard) contact lenses, specialty lenses for astigmatism, and multifocal prescriptions. Per Wisconsin state law, your contact lens prescription will need to be updated annually.
